Some cool rumours today about the upcoming The Mandalorian Season 2 and the soon-to-start-filming Obi-Wan series.
Kessel Run Transmissions have shared news (below) about the two new series – and as they recently they broke the news about The Bad Batch animated series, they have proven they have reliable sources – and it seems the two shows, as suspected by many, will connect to the wider Star Wars universe.
Firstly, they say that the trailer for The Mandalorian Season 2 was set to drop last week but was delayed and it seems that the reason might be that extra footage was filmed – possibly exclusively for the trailer – of Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano.
The scene will reportedly see Ahsoka with a grey cape on beating up two anonymous bounty hunters. Reportedly, she looks incredible in the role.
Next, they comment on the rumours that Hayden Christensen will appear in the Obi-Wan series as we reported a while back. And it seems that, yes, he certainly will.
He will appear in flashbacks, and will be wearing the Jedi garb he wore in the Clone Wars series as the Obi-Wan story will tie into the Clone Wars a lot, reportedly.
They also report that the story will revolve around Vader searching for Kenobi and that Vader will also be a big character in the show. Will Christensen also play Vader? Unknown, but it would be very cool if he did, wouldn’t it?
Finally, they also report that Obi-Wan’s Clone Battalion the 212th will appear in the series, as will Clone Commander Cody, although in what capacity, we don’t know.
It could be flashbacks too. Or It could see Cody helping Vader search for Kenobi or perhaps still, Cody has managed to also overwrite Order 66 and is joining Captain Rex – who we’re hearing is set for The Mandalorian Season 2 – in the fight against the Empire.
However it all pans out, if it’s right, it’s going to be pretty damned great.
