Well, this is indeed a…. Good Omen.
Word is that Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett’s masterful apocalypse comedy, Good Omens is coming to the small screen thanks to the folks at Amazon and best of all, it will star Michael Sheen and David Tennant as the show’s two leads.
And just who are the leads? Well, it’s the story of Aziraphale (Sheen) and Angel who lives on earth and his best but somewhat unlikely friend, Crowley (Tennant) a demon who also dwells in the mortal realm. And the two of them must come together to stop the coming apocalypse.
And the book is hilarious. So we hope the show can capture the mood and tone of the original tale.
Sheen said of Gaiman and Pratchett’s book: “I first read ‘Good Omens’ as a teenager and it’s been one of my favourite stories ever since.
“To be part of the team entrusted with bringing it alive on screen is a bit of a dream come true to be honest. To work alongside Neil, who I think is one of the greatest storytellers of all time, is incredibly exciting. And, just like the rest of the world, I’m a huge fan of David’s so I relish trying to save it with him.”
This is exciting news, I remember falling in love with the book in my teens and I’m pretty excited for this casting.
Any fans in the house? Let us know your thoughts….
