Disney planning Scarlet Witch and Loki TV series starring Tom Hiddleston and Elizabeth Olsen

Now, if true, this could be pretty awesome!

Variety  are reporting that Marvel are planning a TV series – or several TV series – based in the MCU for its upcoming streaming service and, even better, it’s going to star the actors from the big screen outings.

Now obviously we’ve seen a few of the MCU actors appear on the Agents of SHIELD series, including that star Clark Gregg who plays Agent Coulson, but this new planned series is a game changer as the first names we’re hearing attached are Scarlet Witch and Loki, to be played by Tom Hiddleston and Elizabeth Olsen!

According to the report, other stars from the movies could be set to appear too.

On top that, real money will be involved along with the architect of the MCU: “The budgets are expected to be hefty rivaling those of a major studio productions. Each series is expected to include six to eight episodes. Marvel Studios will produce the shows and Kevin Feige, the guru of all things MCU, is expected to take a hands-on role in their development.”

Going to to say that don’t expect Cap, Iron Man or Black Panther in the shows: “Insiders stress the Avengers that have gotten their own movies like Iron Man and Captain America will not be featured in the series with the studios focusing on characters who have served as second tier characters in the MCU.”

Marvel has a great catalogue of supporting characters, so we’re ok with that.

Wait, does this mean Loki survived? Again?! Anyway…

This now joins Jon Favreau’s live-action Star Wars series as ann exclusive show that is going to cost Disney a lot of money… it’s a big gamble, financially speaking.

So, thoughts on a Loki and Scarlet Witch show? Let us know…
