With the third season of Netflix’s hit show Stranger Things been and gone, we’re all wondering what is to come next season, especially after the shock at the end of the season and now creators, the Duffer brothers, have talked a little about what’s to come in Season 4.
“We have the big broad strokes,” Ross Duffer says about the plans for next year.
“It’s just now about filling in those lines in the details. We’re pretty excited about where it’s potentially going to go. Again, like we said, it’s going to feel very different than this season. But I think that’s the right thing to do and I think it’ll be exciting.”
If you’ve seen the third season you’ll already know that things will have to be different moving forward.
As for the mid-credit scene with the Demogorgon, he added: “Obviously the question of who that American is in that cell and then also what they’re doing with the Demogorgon, is a tease. That’s obviously going to play a huge role in a potential season four.”
However, while that all sounds fun, it’s Matt Duffer’s tease that has my attention: “I think the biggest thing that’s going to happen is it’s going to open up a little bit, not necessarily in terms of scale [or] in terms of special effects, but open up in terms of allowing portals into areas outside of Hawkins.”
Up to now, the story has more or less focused on Hawkins but with the next season it seems the story – and effects of those portals and what’s in them – is going to go global and that will surely bring lots of new stories to tell.
“However, I’m hearing that, despite previous reports, Netflix may be looking to wrap the series up after the fourth season, so the next season is likely going to go out with a loud bang.
