While, personally, I think Elementary is easily as good as the BBC’s much adored Sherlock, I’ll still be honest and say this is exciting news…
For a while now we’ve known the Sherlock Special was coming (remember our first look here?) but it’s good to know the cameras are rolling as we read this…
Co-creator Mark Gatiss Tweeted (see below) that he was heading out to start the Special earlier today (he was travelling from London to Bristol).
The Special will once again star Benedict Cumberbatch as Holmes and Martin Freeman as Watson. Andrew Scott (above) will also return as Moriarty as the world wonders if he is indeed still alive as was hinted in the last episode…
The Special is scheduled for late this year – probably Christmas time.
We’ll keep you posted….
