Talk about stepping off the page on to the screen!
Neil Gaiman has revealed our first look at David Tennant and Michael Sheen as the demon Crowley and the angel Aziraphale from he and Terry Pratchett’s Good Omens which is being adapted by the good folks at Amazon Prime and… oh, my.
As A fan of the book from an early age, this is almost exactly how I imagined these two characters, so it’s exciting and encouraging to think that a faithful adaptation is on its way.
Miranda Richardson, Michael McKean and Jack Whitehall will also appear in the six-part series when it arrives in 2018.
CO-writer of the novel and writer on the series, Gaiman said of the duo that they made “one hell of a double act (or do I mean one made in Heaven?)”
“People have fallen in love with an angel and a demon in a book by Terry Pratchett and me, and they have been excited and nervous to see how they would appear on screen.”
In the novel the duo, old friends from before the war in Heaven, join forces to stop the end of the world from a young boy and his rather lovely hellhound.
We’re so in! Are you?
They are amazing. This is them in the opening scenes, 11 years ago, in St James’s Park. David and Michael, demon & angel. #GoodOmens pic.twitter.com/ceK4XYY881
