DC/Warners are continuing to develop the Titans TV series for their upcoming DC streaming service and we now have some exciting details on characters who may also be appearing.
The series is based around the DC Comics’ Teen Titans and so far it has Brenton Thwaites (above) as Robin/Nightwing, Ryan Potter as Beast Boy Alan Ritchson and Minka Kelly as Hawk & Dove along with Anna Diop and Teagan Croft as Starfire and Raven. So the cast is pretty exciting… however, there’s always room for more, right? I mean, just look how big the Arrowverse has become.
Anyway, it now looks like Solstice may be set to join the show too as That Hashtag Show revealed a new character currently being cast:
[MONICA SAINI] Female, early 20s-early 30s, East Indian. Has the mentality of a survivor and the scars along with it. Unsettled and a little unusual. Orphan. Limited dialogue in her first appearance. Must be familiar with Hindi. POSSIBLY RECURRING GUEST STAR.
And this definitely sounds like Solstice AKA Kiran Singh, an upbeat character in the comics who is an orphan form India with light-based powers, who wears a suit made of light that can be summoned at will. Sounds likely for sure…
In other news, co-writer and DC Entertainment boss Geoff Johns tweeted this little nugget:

Yup, looks like we might be seeing Doom Patrol in the show. Actually, scratch that, we reckon it’s safe to say we definitely will be seeing Doom Patrol in the series.
Wait, Who?
Oh, Doom Patrol:

Doom Patrol is yet another superhero team in the DC universe although, unlike most other, they’re made up primarily of misfits and outcasts. The group, again like most comic book groups, changes throughout its history in the comics but has included characters such as super strong Cliff Steele, Elasti-Girl, Negative Man along with the likes of Crazy Jane, Elongated Man, Metamorpho, the sentient piece of road Danny the Street (who was recently brought up in a reported connected to the Nightwing movie) Teen Titans member Beast Boy also was part of the team at one stage. So, as you can see, it’s a varied and mixed bunch.
So which group we’ll see in the series is totally up in the air, but it’s so cool to think we’re going to see these characters in live-action soon.
Titans follows a group of young soon-to-be Super Heroes recruited from every corner of the DC Universe. In this action-packed series, Dick Grayson emerges from the shadows to become the leader of a fearless band of new heroes, including Starfire, Raven and many others. Titans is a dramatic, live-action adventure series that will explore and celebrate one of the most popular comic book teams ever. The show will be written by Akiva Goldsman (Star Trek: Discovery, Underground), President and CCO of DC Entertainment Geoff Johns (The Flash, Arrow) and Greg Berlanti (Arrow, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, The Flash, Supergirl).
Titans stars Brenton Thwaites (Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales) as Dick Grayson/Robin, Teagan Croft (Home and Away) as Raven, Anna Diop (24: Legacy) as Koriand’r/Starfire, Alan Ritchson (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) & Minka Kelly (Friday Night Lights) as Hawk and Dove, and Lindsey Gort as Police Detective Amy Rohrbac
Titans is set to debut in 2018 on the DC-branded direct-to-consumer digital service, operated by Warner Bros. Digital Networks.
