Some cool news for fans of the now-cancelled Stephen King spin-off series, Castle Rock.
The series, made without input from King himself, drew from his books and stories and pulled characters together in stories that could have happened in the King-verse while ot necessarily referenced in the novels (although season one’s inclusion of Alan Pangborn contradicted a fair bit of what we knew about Pangborn from his stories in the books, particularly Needful Things, but anyway…).
As a big fan of King, I watched – and enjoyed – season one of the series but sadly never got around to season 2 and once it was cancelled I lost the compulsion to get it watched… there’s only so much TV you can watch, after all.
However, it seems now that the guys behind King Podcast The Losers’ CLub (named after the gang in the IT novel) have got their blood-stained hands on a teleplay for the first episode of the show’s third season and, fair play, they have turned it into a three-part podcast, which you can listen to below.
The episode begins “with the arrivals of a Dark Man, a beleaguered detective, a fire-spewing vigilante, a psychic drifter, and horror’s most famous vintage automobile. It’s a story as engrossing as it is asinine, and littered with more Easter eggs than you can count on, well, 19 hands.”
A Dark Man, huh? Wonder if he has the initials RF? Anyway, check out the full episode, all three parts, below and let us know your thoughts, gang.
