Oh yes! How’s that for a slice of fried gold?!
During a live twitter watchalong of Spaced, director Edgar Wright shared a full play list of tunes from the now iconic sitcom.
Spaced was created, written by and starred Simon Pegg as Tim Bisley and Jessica Stevenson as Daisy Steiner and was directed by Wright. It also starred Nick Frost as Mike, Katy Carmichael as Twist, Mark Heap as Brian and Julia Deakin as Marsha.
The series hit in 1999 while I was at university and, like Clerks, it summed up exactly my life at the time – the struggles, the influences, the attitude, Pegg, Stevenson and Wright encapsulated life for me – and many, many others – just as Kevin Smith was doing across the pond.
The show’s characters, themes and stories were all familiar and just as important at the time was the playlist of the show and finally, we have it all in one place.
So sit back, play some Resident Evil and let your ears indulge themselves. The weekend starts here.
Tim, a comic book artist who just broke up with the love of his life, and Daisy, an aspiring writer, meet by chance and decide to pose as a professional couple to secure a relatively cheap flat.
I really am going to bed now, but I managed to do that whole three and a half hours tweet-along without a break. Was super fun. If you still need some Spaced tonight, knock yourself out with the soundtrack.#SpacedMarathon https://t.co/dGhwcavinv
