Despite its flaws, few shows have gathered the fandom that the BBC’s Sherlock has and with Sherlock and Watson – Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman – being so busy with other projects, the series’ future filming schedule is up in the air, but Freeman (above, left) assures us that all is not lost…
As we already know, show runners Steven Moffatt and Mark Gatiss have already planned out another two years’ of stories, but actually filming them could be an issue. The Guardian newspaper caught up with Martin Freeman, promoting his new series Fargo, about the future: “I thought the plan was to do it in the autumn but apparently that’s fallen away. We’re all busy. But I’m ready. I’m there. It depends if you want to make time for it. I hope we do. I love it.”
Speaking to Cultbox, Freeman expanded on plans for the series: “Mark Gatiss may beat me up, but there is an idea for this one-off special that’s such a good idea, and as I was listening to it, I thought, ‘We’ve just got to do this.
“It’s a fantastic, really mouth-watering idea. But I really don’t know when we are going to get to do it.”
So it looks like everyone is willing, the question is when will the game be afoot? When we know, you’ll know…
