McGregor set for Obi-Wan return in Ahsoka season 2?

One of the highlights of Disney Star Wars so far was 2023’s Ahsoka season one.

While the show itself hasn’t been met with universal love by the fans – I loved it – one addition in particular really got the fandom bouncing.

During the events of the series, older Ahsoka, played by Rosario Dawson, has reason to walk through her own timeline and while doing so she sees her younger self, played by Ariana Greenblatt, fighting during the Clone Wars (just like in the animated series)alongside her Master, Anakin Skywalker, played by Hayden Christensen, and it was just magic for Clone Wars fans.

Ewan McGregor says there’s talk of Obi-Wan Kenobi season 2 and he wants to go back to the Clone Wars

However, one thing missing – we even got Temeura Morrison playing Captain Rex! –  was the absence of Master Obi-Wan Kenobi.

It seems that Ahsoka season 2 might be set to rectify that.

In a recent interview, Obi-Wan actor Ewan McGregor, left, said that one thing he really wanted to do in Star Wars was to suit up in the Clone Wars armour: “I’d quite like to wear that armor,” the actor said.

“I was speaking to someone earlier, from the Clone Wars. I think that would be something that I would enjoy.”

Now, according to The Kristian Harloff Show, McGregor is set to appear in Ahsoka season 2 along with Christiansen and Greenblatt and it will be a big role! Does this mean that Ahsoka season 2 will have a section that takes place during The Clone Wars?

Rory McCann to replace the late Ray Stevenson in Ahsoka season 2

The character of Baylan Skoll, played by the late Ray Stevenson and set to be played in season 2 of Ahsoka by Game of Thrones actor Rory McCann, said in season 1 that he knew Anakin Skywalker so, I’m wondering if we will see an extended flashback where Skoll, Skywalker and Kenobi are together? Could it be part of the story?

Whatever it is, seeing this trio together in live-action will be a big draw for the fans and it will also leave our desire for a live-action Clone Wars show bigger than it has ever been.

Thoughts?

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
