Star Wars fans worth their salt will know the Darth Jar Jar story.
The theory is that clumsy Jar Jar Binks in the prequels was actually a Sith Lord and was manipulating events all the while from the background and in plain sight and, believe it or not, there is some truth to it and actor Ahmed Best who played Binks has addressed it and confirmed it’s not completely outlandish (here) – in fact, The Clone Wars animated series confirmed that Binks was strong in the Force (unknowingly) and that’s why all his mistakes work out for the best.
Anyway, it’s always been a fun little theory that Star Wars fans have had fun with… but now it’s become a little bit closer to canon and Darth Jar Jar will actually be represented on screen! Although, in fairness, he will be in a LEGO Star Wars series.

In LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy, the entire Star Wars galaxy gets completely mixed up when an ordinary nerf-herder, Sig Greebling (Gaten Matarazzo), unearths a powerful artifact called the Cornerstone from a hidden Jedi temple. He finds himself thrust into adventure in a new, wondrously wild and twisted version of the galaxy where good guys are bad, bad guys are good, and the fate of all depends on Sig becoming the hero who can put all the pieces back together. The teaser offers a glimpse of the creative and hilarious mashups within LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy, including Ewok bounty hunters, Geonosian Jedi, and, amazingly, Darth Jar Jar voiced by Ahmed Best (“Mesa going to hurt yousa!” is a definite highlight), along with the Dark Falcon.
Having Darth Jar Jar in a series – even a silly one like this – is a great little nod to the fans who have secretly believed for all these years that Binks was the master manipulator that made the universe tear itself apart and that he himself was a Sith Lord… and even better, he’s voiced by Best!
I love this theory, I always have, and this is such a fun way to give back to those who love the movies and lore.

Also, if LEGO releases a Darth Jar Jar figure, wild horses wouldn’t hold me back from picking it up, just sayin’ LEGO.
The talented voice cast features Gaten Matarazzo (Sig Greebling), Tony Revolori (Dev Greebling), Bobby Moynihan (Jedi Bob), Marsai Martin (Yesi Scala), Michael Cusack (Servo), Ahmed Best (Darth Jar Jar), and Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker).
