While we know very little about the upcoming Marvel/Disney+ Loki series, we do know a few things.
We know that Tom Hiddleston is back as the titular god of mischief after escaping during the time-travel segment of Avengers: Endgame.
We know too that word has it we will see a female Loki in the series (here) and we know that Owen Wilson will appear as an as yet unconfirmed character and now we have really exciting news too… the legend that is Richard E Grant has joined the series too, confirming the news in a tweet (below)!
Grant previously appeared in a Marvel project when he played Dr Rice in Logan a couple of years ago and no he is set for an MCU role to compliment it.
As for who he’s playing, well, that’s not been confirmed yet, but, given how the MCU is now set to introduce alternate realities – and we know Loki will take place in a new timeline given that the timeline from which he disappeared in Endgame was already an alternate timeline to the main MCU one – I’d be prepared to put money on it that Grant is an alternate version of Loki or an older version; if so, it’s inspired casting. I’d bet this is why/how we’ll meet a female Loki too.
Anyway, Richared E Grant is now part of the MCU – let’s hope he gets treated with respect.
Let me know all your thoughts, gang.
