HBO Max has released a new promo for it’s 2025 shows and there’s some serious quality stuff in here.
The promo features a lot of shows that aren’t in our wheelhouse such as The White Lotus and And Just Like That but it also gives us first looks and new looks at several shows we are very excited for including the IT prequel series, Welcome to Derry which will show us an earlier encounter with Pennywise the Clown, going back even further than Stephen King’s own books. The series is set 27 years before the events of IT [which makes sense], IT director Andy Muschietti will direct four out of nine episodes and Bill Skarsgard is returning as Pennywise.
Next up we have Peacemaker season 2 which will see John Cena bring back the antihero for a new series which will be set in James Gunn and Peter Safran’s new DCU oh, and that’s our first look at Frank Grillo as Rick Flagg Snr.
From there, we have brief glimpses of the next chapter in the Game of Thrones world, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, then we have season 2 of The Last of Us and finally we get another glimpse of Dune: Prophecy (although it’s part of the 2024 lineup).
There’s no doubt that HBO Max is going to be delivering us loads of Nerdy goodness in 2025.
