WATCH: Loved Creature Commandos’ first two episodes? Here’s a taste of what comes later this season

Well, Creature Commandos is finally here, with the first two episodes debuting last night but now, with the DCU having truly begun, we’re already looking to the future of the series.

And if this new teaser of what’s to come is anything to go by – Superman! Peacemaker! – then we’re in for a treat.

Speaking at the Annecy Film Festiva in June, Gunn once again talked about how the characters in the new DCU can cross many mediums: “Our characters can move in and out of animation or jump into a game or onto the big screen, but they will remain consistent throughout; same character, same history, same actor.”

Speaking about how Creature Commandos is the first step into the DCU, he points out that Superman is the beginning of the new universe: “Superman is the true start of everything, it’s a humongous epic. This is a way for people to just take a little nibble and see what it tastes like. There are a ton of fun references to other DC stuff, a bunch of hints for things that are coming. So I think it’s just an extraordinarily fun way to start.”

Interestingly, Gunn also confirms that Sgt Rock’s Easy Company (pictured below) will appear in the new animated series, which is interesting because we’re hearing a rumour, first reported by NexusPointNews that a Sgt Rock movie is in development with Challengers and Suspiria director Luca Guadagnino attached.

Whatever comes next, we have it on good authority that there are a heap of DC projects in development that we don’t know bout yet and that’s pretty exciting news.

Meet Task Force M. From the mind of James Gunn and DC Studios, the new Max Original series Creature Commandos premieres this December.

The seven-episode Max Original adult animated series Creature Commandos, written and executive produced by James Gunn, debuts Thursday, December 5th on Max followed by one episode weekly until January 16.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
