The teaser has dropped for HBO Max’s adult-animated series Velma, based on the Scooby Doo heroine, Velma Dinkley.
Velma is exec produced by The Office’s Mindy Kaling who will also voice Velma in the 10-part series.
The series will also star Sam Richardson as Norville aka Shaggy, Constance Wu as Daphne and Glenn Howerton as Fred:
It was revealed recently that a new HBO Max Scooby-Doo animated movie, Trick or Treat, Scooby Doo, will reveal that Velma is – as many suspected – gay; we expect that to be theme carried over in the Velma series too.
Velma is an adult animated comedy series telling the origin story of Velma Dinkley, the unsung and under appreciated brains of the Scooby-Doo Mystery Inc. gang. This original and humorous spin unmasks the complex and colorful past of one of America’s most beloved mystery solvers.
Velma is streaming in 2023 on HBO Max.
