WATCH: Trailer arrives for Peacemaker season 2, teases BIG things coming

As promised, DCU showrunner James Gunn just dropped the trailer for Peacemaker season 2.

And it’s not only full of the faces from last season including John Cena’s Christopher Smith AKA Peacemaker, Danielle Brooks as Leota Adebayo, Freddie Stroma as Adrian Chase AKA Vigilante, Jennifer Holland as Agent Emilia Harcourt and Steve Agee as John Economos, but the trailer gives us a new look at Nathan Fillion’s Guy Gardner AKA Green Lantern, Isabela Merced’s Hawkgirl and the man looking for revenge on Peacemaker for the murder of his son in The Suicide Squad, Rick Flag Snr played by Frank Grillo.

And… a second Cena/Peacemaker?

The Peacemaker series just confirmed that Bat Mite exists in the DCEU!

The last glimpse of the trailer seems to be setting up something really big and has me wondering if perhaps Gunn plans on explaining why we’re no longer in the DCEU (ie the Snyderverse) anymore but rather we’re now in the DCU after all.

Either way, I’m excited because I really enjoyed season one and am totally here for season 2… and its connections to the wider DCU.

Peacemaker is an upcoming HBO Max action-comedy series based on the DC Comics villain of the same name. The series is produced by DC Entertainment and Troll Court Entertainment. It is a spin-off/sequel to The Suicide Squad and the first television series in the DC Extended Universe.
