WATCH: Trailer drops for the Knuckles TV series

We reported a few days ago that Jim Carrey has come out of retirement to once again play Dr Robotnik in the third Sonic movie and now we have more Sega goodness for the fans!

Yes, the full trailer has dropped for the limited Knuckles series and it looks pretty great. Idris Elba is back as Sonic’s once-enemy-now-ally and, I have to be honest, for some reason, I thought this was an animated series, like the new TMNT series but it’s not, it’s live-action/CGI and looks every bit as good as the two Sonic movies that came before it.

The new live-action series will follow Knuckles (Idris Elba) on a hilarious and action-packed journey of self-discovery as he agrees to train Wade (Adam Pally) as his protege and teach him the ways of the Echidna warrior. The series takes place between the films SONIC THE HEDGEHOG 2 and SONIC THE HEDGEHOG 3.

The first episode is directed by Jeff Fowler, and stars Idris Elba (voice), Adam Pally, Tika Sumpter, Edi Patterson, Stockard Channing, Julian Barratt, Scott Mescudi, Ellie Taylor, and Cary Elwes.

Knuckles hits Paramount+ on 26th April 2024.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
