We’ve always known he legend but now DC’s Legends of Tomorrow are set to prove it to us… by having him appear in the next episode!
Yes, it seems that the man behind Star Wars, THX 1138 and so much more, is set to appear in the show when it returns in January.
And it seems he’ll have a bit part to play in the story as it sees Lucas – played by Grimm’s Matt Angel – quit film school, meaning Star Wars, Indiana Jones and everything else, never happens and this has a big effect on the Legends, particularly Ray (Brandon Routh) and Nate (Nick Zano).
“Because of circumstances, the time aberration in episode 209 is George Lucas quits film school,” executive producer Marc Guggenheim says.
“As a result, he never makes Star Wars or Raiders of the Lost Ark. As a result, Ray, who became an engineer because of Star Wars, and Nate, who became a historian because of Raiders, slowly start to lose their brilliance, because those things that inspired them to become who they are didn’t exist.”
As someone who seems to have become the person he is – this site wouldn’t exist if not for Star Wars and its influence on who I am – because of Lucas and his work, this episode has me very, very excited.
Let us know what you think of this idea in all the usual ways.
DC’s Legends of Tomorrow returns Tuesday, Jan. 24 at 9 p.m. ET on The CW.
