To those of you who are lucky enough to have landed a Playstation 4 before Christmas, it’s finally happened; there is a recognised fault which is starting to effect players online.
I encountered it myself, trying to join Call of Duty: Ghosts with my brother last night (Sunday 8th Dec) and have heard of others encountering the same issue in other games too. So far, it has effected Battlefield 4, Call of Duty: Ghosts, Killzone, NBA2014, and intermittently with other games too. Basically, an error message of ‘CE-34878-0’ pops up on a blue screen, telling you the game has unexpectedly crashed, with the offer to send a report to Sony directly, letting them know. From my own experience, it effects those who are in ‘parties’ trying to join the same match. Others have said it relates to the recent ‘share’ option that has gone live. Although a maintenance patch has the Sony network down tonight (Monday 9th), it doesn’t seem to relate to this particular problem.
Sony have released an official statement to say they are aware of the problem, and will keep us updated.
