It looks like, while we may all be upset about the ending of Disney Infinity (here), there’s good news in the other Star Wars gaming front…
Electronic Arts’ CFO Blake Jorgensen has announced that Star Wars Battlefront games are to become an annual release: “Next year we’ll see Star Wars Battlefront back with bigger and better worlds, because we now have the new movies to work off [and] not just the historical movies that we used before.”
This is great news as it looks like the next game may cover more than just the original trilogy, with a million planets, not to mention the new movies, prequels and animated shows, to explore. Battlefront may be set to get much bigger.
Jorgensen also confirmed that a second Star Wars game, headed by Amy Hennig and Todd Stashwick, is coming in 2018. If rumours are to be believed, this new game will harken back to the tragically cancelled 1313.
All this on top of the news that Respawn, the guys behind titanfall, are working on a Star Wars third-person shooter too.
Get strapped in Star Wars fans, there’s some serious gaming ahead…
