What appears to be some extremely rough footage of Niantic’s upcoming mobile phone game, Pokemon GO!, has leaked on YouTube. It isn’t confirmed, but Niantic’s CEO, John Hanke, was at SXSW last week talking about the much, anticipated release.
Again, the footage is rough, but it would appear that the Pokemon are region-based as we see Ivysaur in a grassy terrain and it’s been confirmed that this is an ongoing theme for the game.
Pokemon GO! is going to be free-to-play for both Android and iOS devices, but players can purchase the Pokemon GO! Plus. This is a Bluetooth-ready device that helps the players know when they’re in a capture location.
Big thanks to IGN for the scoop!
