Odin’s raven…
In what can only be described as the most stupid remake announcement this week, Paramount Pictures have decided to inflict a remake of seminal thriller Don’t Look Now on the paying public. Probably best known for its sex scene between Donald Sutherland and Julie Christie, the original told the story of parents haunted by the death of their daughter moving to Venice, where they become convinced that they are being literally haunted by the spirit of the little girl.
French broadcaster Canal+’s production arm StudioCanal is to handle production. No word on direcctor or cast yet, but that really isn’t the point. At what stage will Hollywood just stop remaking well-known films? In all honesty, this is getting beyond a joke now! What’s left? Howsabout remaking Citizen Kane with Ben Stiller in the lead role? Or A Clockwork Orange with Jack Black as Alex? Nicholas Cage as Mark Renton? Just make it stop!
I need a beer…
