After Joe Hill’s awesome Locke & Key comic book was dropped as a movie trilogy (here) we began to fear if we’d see any more of his work on screen. Now it looks like we may well do.
AMC, the folks behind The Walking Dead, have picked up his fantastic NOS4A2 novel (and presumably prequel comic series) for a series and they are currently looking for a writer for the series.
NOS4A2 is a terrifying tale of a killer call Charlie Manx who abducts children in his 1938 Rolls Royce Wraith (the title of the book, as well as being a play on Nosferatu, is the number plate of the car) and takes them to a terrifying elsewhere.
The great thing is that, although the comic was a limited series and the book was a solo tale, the story of Charlie Manx could potentially span forever and easily be an ongoing series.
The book was written by Hill, son of Stephen King, and is a triumph of modern horror and along with Horns and Heart-shaped Box has established Hill as every bit the master his father is.
We’ll keep you up-to-date with the details as they emerge but this could be essential, terrifying TV…
