Ah, man… Constantine is back getting our hopes up.
But we’re trying to be realistic here. Trying really hard…
Ok, here’s the deal, NBC made the first season of Contantine and then cancelled it. There was a massive online campaign (#SaveConstantine) to get The CW to save it. And they did… to an extent. I came very close and, in the end, Constantine appeared in Arrow and get a few mentions after but sadly, despite being an obvious choice to help save the day from Damien Darhk in the finale, he never reappeared.

Now, The CW’s online streaming service, CW Seed, has put Constantine online for everyone to see.
This seems curious because, well, Constantine wasn’t a CW show to start with and Netflix seems like the obvious place for Warner Bros to put the show if they are looking to make money.
This has got a lot of people thinking that maybe, just maybe, The CW is looking to see how Constantine performs on the streaming service in order to weigh up if or not it might be an idea to bring him back for a second season, similar to how they brought over Supergirl for next year.
However, we reckon that if Constantine is going to have a future with The CW he may be better cast like Wentworth Miller and John Barrowman as a franchise regular (here)… we’d love to see him back for a full series but could live with him drifting around The CW universe.
It is, after all, nice to know he’s out there, isn’t it?
Oh and, for the record, Constantine can’t be viewed on CW Seed outside the US and isn’t currently set for Blu-ray or DVD release; ergo Constantine has never been screened in the UK in any way… and we think that kinda sucks.
UPDATE: Thanks to two of our readers on Twitter (you know who you are guys) we must stand corrected as it was on Amazon Prime. Our bad…
