If you’re a fan of the new Planet of the Apes movies – and who isn’t? – then you’ll want to keep an eye on New York Comic Con later this week.
20th Century Fox have announced a special look at the upcoming War For The Planet Of The Apes at the con:
Andy Serkis will join director Matt Reeves and producer Dylan Clark to premiere “never-before-seen footage” of the film during a sneak peek presentation at Manhattan’s Regal E-Walk Theater on Thursday, Oct. 6 starting at 8:30 p.m.
On top of that, we have a synopsis that really seems to hint that this is where the Planet of the Apes that we were all familiar with before the new movies (“Damned dirty Apes!” etc) will come to be:
Caesar (Serkis) and his apes are forced into a deadly conflict with an army of humans led by a ruthless Colonel (Woody Harrelson). After the apes suffer unimaginable losses, Caesar wrestles with his darker instincts and begins his own mythic quest to avenge his kind. As the journey finally brings them face to face, Caesar and the Colonel are pitted against each other in an epic battle that will determine the fate of both their species and the future of the planet.
War for the Planet of the Apes stars Andy Serkis, Woody Harrelson, Steve Zahn, Terry Notary, and Karin Konoval. The film will hit theaters on July 14, 2017.
