If you think back, before there was Flash, Agents of SHIELD, Netflix, and all the shows that we go nuts for today, one of the first TV shows to really get people hooked and to redefine what TV was was LOST – we said one of, so X-Files, Buffy, Smallville fans chill.
I still remember that first episode, when Jack woke on the beach after his plane crashed and having no idea of the adventure that would unfold over the next six years.
Was it flawed? Absolutely, but it was never less than gripping, right up until the confusing finale.
And we’ve thought time and time again, that maybe it’s time to go back to the island. And it looks like we’re not alone in that thinking.
LOST executive producer Carlton Cuse has been talking about just that. Although he doesn’t think it’ll be his baby anymore: “For Damon [Lindelof] and myself, we really feel like we were given an incredible opportunity to tell the story we wanted to tell.
“It was really the first network show where we sort of dictated our own end date. We told the story we wanted to tell. To this date, there has not been any effort or any talk between us about doing anything else.”
However, he goes on: “I do believe at some future point, someone else will do something in the LOST world and that’s okay. There probably are some young wonderful writers out there. Maybe Damion Chizell would like to do a musical in the world of LOST, I don’t know. He’s free to do it.”
We do know at the end of the series Hugo “Hurley” Reyes and Benjamin Linus were still on the island and Linus himself, Michael Emerson, recently said he believes there is a lot of the story still to tell.
We at FTN adored LOST, in fact I recently picked up the Blu-ray box set and fully intend on starting the adventure all over again and just getting through it all at one go, so the return of these characters and that very mysterious place would be one we – and we know there’s a hell of a lot of fans out there – welcome back with open arms.
Is it time to get back to the island? Let us know…
