Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins discussed the movie recently at the Wondercon convention, and confirmed some details about the upcoming movie – specifically the main villain of the movie:
“I think (Ares) is the biggest villain of Wonder Woman’s world, if you’re gonna start off big you start off right with THE greatest villain”
She also discussed how the movie was made at the same time as Batman Vs Superman, so director Zack Snyder was busy with that but he and comic creator Geoff Johns did collaborate with Jenkins as the movies are set within the same DC extended universe, but that her vision of Wonder Woman’s movie was as a stand-alone movie, inspired by the styling of Richard Donner’s original 1978 Superman movie, and Steven Spielberg’s Indiana Jones movies, and that the movie was made with an intent to be funny and more light-hearted than the other DC movies have been.
Wonder Woman stars Gal Gadot and Chris Pine and is due to be released in UK cinemas on June 2nd, and you can view the full interview with Jenkins below.
