The recent The Man From UNCLE movie reboot was a pretty fun affair.
The movie, from Guy Ritchie, starred Henry Cavill as Napoleon Solo and Armie Hammer as Illya Kuryakin and was funny, sexy, self aware and well worth a look and now the sequel has a writer attached.
Star Hammer has revealed that the first movie’s producer and co-screenwriter is back scripting: “I called [co-writer] Lionel Wigram, the producer of the movie, and he and Guy produced it and wrote it all together. I was like, ‘Dude, what’s the deal? I get asked about this s@#t all the time. Can you just write a sequel?'”
The actor went on: “He was like, ‘You know what? Yeah, f@#k it, I’ll do it. Sure, I’ll write a sequel.’ I was like, ‘If you write one, I’m sure we can get one made,’ so who knows? Today is the first day I’ve actually told anyone that story. I only told one other person who asked. Apparently, the sequel is being written right now. No pressure, Lionel!”
The first movie also featured Gaby (Alicia Vikander) and Alexander Waverly (Hugh Grant), so there’s plenty to look forward to if the sequel ever sees the light of day.
