We all know Buttercup, Blossom, and Bubbles but get ready because there’s a fourth Powerpuff Girl coming…
Yes, you heard that right, despite being a trio since their debut on Cartoon Network in 1998, it seems there’s a fourth member sitting in the wings, waiting for their moment in the spotlight.
Cartoon Network will unveil the as-yet-unnamed fourth Powerpuff girl in the premiere episode of the five-part movie event, The Powerpuff Girls: Power of Four, airing Sunday, Sept. 17 at 5:30 p.m. ET.
We have this image:
Which, in fairness, doesn’t tell us much but we’re betting she’ll have a name beginning with ‘B’.
While there’s no confirmation if this character will be a permanent addition to the team, we’re guessing it’ll come down to numbers, reactions etc, but we’d not rule out the team being a quartet moving forward.
Thoughts?
UPDATE:
An image (bottom) of the new Powerpuff Girl who is black with long blue hair has appeared online. We still have no real details on her – name, character, voice, etc – although we’re hearing she will indeed be voiced by a black actress. We’ll keep you posted, gang…
UPDATE 2:
The new character will be voiced by pianist, producer, and singer-songwriter Toya Delazy.
AND JUST LIKE THAT, I BECAME A POWERPUFF GIRL 😆😆😆🇿🇦
Much love to my @cartoonnetwork for trusting me with this epic job 💋❤️️#lifegoals pic.twitter.com/ZshJT8VWR0— ToyaDelazy (@ToyaDelazy) September 7, 2017
