Warner Bros tell Ryan Reynolds to give back his Green Lantern Ring…

Have you watched Deadpool 2 yet? If the answer is ‘no’,then why not? It’s bloody great and you should stop reading as this article will spoil one of the post credit scenes

One thing that Warner brothers have not been known for for a while is levity, what with Justice League and Batman Vs Superman having a decidedly dark tone, but their recent tweets to Mr Deadpool, Ryan Reynolds (below), have managed to show that they can at least laugh at themselves.

Way back in 2011 Warner Brother released the very much – and correctly – maligned Green Lantern movie starring Reynolds and to say it was a flop would be an understatement: it bombed harder than the Luftwaffe in the 40s, lost more money than a Ponzi scheme and almost killed Reynolds’ career, but in 2016 Reynolds had one of the sleeper hits of the millennium with Deadpool and he even fired a few shots at his former employers and their terrible CGI Green Lantern suit.

You would be forgiven for thinking that Warner Brothers would have an axe to grind and then Reynolds pushed the envelope even further in one of the post credit scenes in Deadpool 2, with Mr Pool travelling back in time to clear up his time line and shooting Ryan Reynolds in the back of the head just as he finishes reading the script for Green Lantern and agreeing to make the movie.

But Warners have put out a tweet telling Reynolds that they need the ring back which is funny because he’s laughing at the movie but it may also mean that they need it to give to the next Green Lantern… which is pretty exciting too.

Deadpool 2, directed by David Leitch, stars Ryan Reynolds, Morena Baccarin, T.J. Miller, Josh Brolin, Brianna Hildebrand, and Zazie Beetz. It’s in theatres now.
