The CW announce plans for Deathstroke animated series

May 16th, 2019 by Marc Comments

Further news from The CW’s Upfronts tonight in New York as it’s been revealed that a Deathstroke animated series is being worked on for CW Seed, the network’s online outlet.

The series, like Vixen and The Ray, is likely to tie-in to The Arrowverse where Manu Bennett played Slade Wilson AKA Deathstroke so it’s likely he’ll be back for the role… in 2D.

CW Seed has produced two season of Vixen and The Ray so far and last year they produced a Constantine series which they later released as a movie, Constantine: City of Demons and, while originally it was part of the Arrowverse, it later became distanced from it and made part of the ongoing DC Animated Universe.

But, they have a solid history of animated tie-ins for The Arrowverse, so this could be something to look forward to.

It has been announced as part of the 2019 Fall line-up and while it’s not known when it will debut but it look like it’ll be before the Crisis On Infinite Earths crossover event.

What say you all? Bennett was a fan favourite on the Arrowverse so it’ll be nice to have him back… although not quite as we imagined.

Thoughts?

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
