It looks like we’re getting a new take on the Green Hornet and Kato story for the big screen.
Based on the heroes created by George W Trendle and Fran Striker for the radio serial in 1936, the characters have had their fair share of adaptations over the years with Van Williams and Bruce Lee playing them in the 60s TV show and then most recently Seth Rogan and Jay Chou took the duo to the big screen (and I like that version – yeah, I said it).
But now Universal Pictures and Amasia Entertainment developing a new The Green Hornet and Kato movie.
Universal Pictures President Peter Cramer said: “The Green Hornet is one of the most iconic and beloved superhero tales ever created, and it has entertained generations of fans in every form of storytelling.
“We are thrilled to be partnering with Michael, Bradley, and the entire Amasia team to launch an exciting new cinematic world for Britt Reid, Kato, and the Black Beauty, and we can’t wait to share it with global audiences soon.”
Personally, as I said above, I enjoyed the 2011 movie and would welcome another take on these two characters.
What say you all?
