Woohoo! Happy Gilmore 2 is now filming and the gang’s all returning!
In a tweet earlier today, Netflix officially announced filming has started on the highly anticipated sequel to 1996’s hit comedy about a failed hockey player, Happy Gilmore played by Adam Sandler, who finds fame and fortune as a golfer.
And shortly after, Netflix announced: Shooter McGavin and Virginia Venit, please report to the green. Julie Bowen and Christopher McDonald will return in Happy Gilmore 2!
McGavin is Happy’s arch nemesis, a life-long golfer who resents Gilmore’s success after just starting to play – he’s a truly horrible, but hilarious foil and we can’t wait to have him back.
Modern Family’s Bowen plays Virginia, the love of Gilmore’s life… does he still have the girl? All shall be revealed.
No release date or further details as of now but we’ll keep you posted!
