June 23rd, 2026 by Marc Comments

Best known for hit shows The Office and Life is Short, Gervais is an award-winning comedian and writer and, as you can see above, this new series is animated, not a first for Gervais, who also starred in the animated series The Ricky Gervais Show along with Stephen Merchant and Karl Pilkington.

With the new trailer debuting, Gervais said on X: “I am so incredibly proud of “Alley Cats” and I can’t wait for it to be released into the world. As with everything I’ve ever done, some won’t like it, some will actively hate it, but some of you will fucking love it. Purrfect.”

Alley Cats is a sitcom about “a group of feral British cats from all walks of society, who seek companionship while ruminating on everyday life,” and Gervais plays Gus, who the star describes as a “fat, lazy, rude, opinionated creature with fangs, who’s not as smart or brave as he thinks he is.” Alley Cats is a sitcom created by and starring the multi-award-winning Ricky Gervais.

In the real world he’s a graphic designer. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
