Samara Weaving IS Emma Frost in MCU’s upcoming X-Men movie UPDATED

With Spider-Man: Brand New Day firmly introducing the X-Men into the MCU, it looks like we’re about to get a deluge of news about casting and who will play who.

And if they’re all half as awesome as this one, then there’ll not be any complaints from FTN HQ.

Yes, one of our favourite actresses and final girls, Samara Weaving, has been cast as Emma Frost in the upcoming X-Men movie from director Jake Schreier.

Micronauts officially set for the Energon Universe comics

Weaving, star of the Ready or Not movies as well as Ash Vs Evil Dead and Bill & Ted Face the Music, is a force to be reckoned with – I still haven’t forgiven Radio Silence for how they treated her in Scream VI – and she’s going to nail at as one of the lead X-Men.

Tidbit:

Get Santa and Heartstopper star Kit Connor has been cast as Scott Summers/Cyclops for the new X-Men line-up.

This means we now have Emma Frost, Scott Summers and, as we know, Sadie Sink is Jean Grey.

Frost, a powerful telepathic who can alter her skin to diamond, making her an all-round force to be reckoned with, was previously played by Mad Men star January Jones in X-Men: First Class. But that was 15 years ago and the role has evolved.

With word being that several other X-Men principals, including Professor X, Magneto and Cyclops, are all but cast, I would expect a lot of news from the Mansion in the coming weeks, with the movie likely to begin filming early next year.

Thoughts on Weaving as Emma Frost? I know you have them and I wanna hear ’em all!
