Dolph Lungren being sought to cameo in He-Man reboot…

March 19th, 2013 by Marc Comments

It looks like the Masters of the Universe, or He-Man, movie is not a certainty and the man set to direct, Jon M Chu has been talking about someone he is keen to get to reprise their role from the original 1987 movie…

Chu, director of G.I. Joe: Retaliation, has been chatting to Getty Images about the upcoming movie, the latest in a line of 80s franchises to get a modern reboot, and has confirmed that he wants the original big screen He-Man, Dolph Lungren to return in a cameo: “I’m working on Masters of the Universe right now. It has a whole world to play with, and I really love that. I love the idea of a challenge, because, tonally, that one is really tough to do.

“I don’t know if Dolph Lundgren is around or what he’s doing but, we’ll see. Yeah, I think that could be some fun if we could find a way. I hope he still has the loin cloth and the long hair and everything.”

This would fit in with rumours we heard some time ago (here) that Lungren was keen to appear as King Randor, Princess Adam’s (He-man) father

The movie is currently in development at Sony pictures…

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
