Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci writing partnership to end

April 23rd, 2014 by Marc Comments

We have a very love/hate relationship with Alex Kurtzman and robert Orci. As in, we at FTN love some of their work and hate some of their work. We just can’t always agree on which way around it is…

Starting out on TV shows Hercules and Alias, the pair have moved on to JJ Abrams’ Star Trek movies, Michael Bay’s Transformers movies (both of which have caused more tremors in the Force than Alderaan being blown up) and have also worked on another two TV shows, both of which we universally love here, Fringe and Sleepy Hollow.

They of course worked on many other things, including Cowboys and Aliens and Mission Impossible III. Has a partnership ever run as hit-and-miss as these two?!

Anyway, despite their break, their TV production house K/O Paper Products is unaffected. Orci is currently penning – and hoping to direct – Star Trek 3 while Kurtzman is currently sticking (ahem) with the Spider-man franchise after penning The Amazing Spider-man 2 and is working on the Venom spin-off.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
