Richard Osman is set to join his Pointless co-star Alexander Armstrong and QI’s Stephen Fry voicing characters in a reboot of Danger Mouse which will be returning to CBBC sometime next year.

There should be no problem when it comes to entertaining each other between takes with an over abundance of random facts and pointless information no doubt. Amstrong will voice the titular mouse originally voiced by Only Fools and Horses’ David Jason, whilst his Pointless co-star will tackle the role of Professor Strontium Jellyfishowitz (the jellyfish scientist), when the cartoon classic returns to CBBC.

A host of other starts are using their voice talents for the returning cartoon, with Kevin Eldon (Big Train, The Kevin Eldon Show), voicing Penfold – Danger Mouse’s timid assistant, originally voiced by the late Terry Scott, and Stephen Fry will be taking on the role of Danger Mouse’s Boss Colonel K, who was formally voiced by The Archers Edward Kelsey.

The classic villain – Baron Silas Greenback – will be voiced by Ed Gaughan, with Channel 4’s Come Dine With Me narrator David Lamb… ….narrating (would you believe it or not!).

Others lending their voices to the rebooted cartoon are Shauna MacDonald (Hemlock Grove, Morweena Banks (Shameless, Skinds), and Kayvan Novak (of Facejacker and Four Lions fame).

The original Danger Mouse ran on ITV for 10 series and 162 episodes between 1981 and 1992.

It will return with 52 episodes sometime in 2015.
