We have our first look, above, at Johnny Depp as Ebenezer Scrooge in Ti West’s upcoming star-studded adaptation of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol.
From Alastair Sim to Albert Finney, from George C Scott to Patrick Stewart by way of Michael Caine and Jim Carrey, the iconic story of one man’s salvation at the hands of four spirits is likely more retold than any other.
And there’s a new, star-studded re-telling coming and, as nearly all that came before, this one will be worth keeping an eye on, if only due to the talent involved.
Pearl and MaXXXine’s West will direct Johnny Depp as Ebenezer Scrooge in Ebenezer: A Christmas Carol, which Paramount are hoping to have in cinemas before next festive season, aiming for November 13, 2026.
Joining Depp’s Scrooge will be Oblivion’s Andrea Riseborough alongside Star Wars’ Daisy Ridley, Harry Potter’s Rupert Grint, and Hunger Games’ Sam Clafin. However, most interesting is the news that Severance’s Tramell Tillman will also star alongside the legend that is Ian McKellan. Word on the grapevine is that Tillman is the Ghost of Christmas Present.
