Oooooooohh…
There are few reunions that can get me as excited as that of Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright, and now, finally, it looks like the duo is back together, with Pegg teasing a new ‘idea’ on social media.
Wright, Pegg, and of course, Nick Frost, are the trio behind tv series Spaced and big screen awesomeness in the shape of Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, and the criminally unappreciated World’s End (collectively known as the Cornetto Trilogy, named after the various flavours of Cornetto ice cream), and I’ll not lie, the idea of them getting together again makes me pretty damned excited.
But, before we get too excited, it will not be part of the Cornetto series that the trio are most famous for, with Pegg saying last year, while Wright was still directing his Running Man remake: “After ‘Running Man’, I feel that’s our moment to come up with our fourth movie,” Pegg said.
Tidbit:
Update: Simon Pegg has just shared an image, mere days after the one of him with Edgar Wright, of him with, you guessed it, Nick Frost! How’s that for slice of fried gold?

“Edgar and I are always talking about what we’re going to do next. The real problem now is about syncing our diaries up at a time when we can both sit down and write a film. And then obviously shoot it. I’ll say this, it’s not about if but when we will do something, which we will do because we’ve already started talking about it.
“Edgar came over to my house last year, and we started kicking ideas around.”
At the time, Pegg also pointed out that, with Frost signed up to the long-term commitment of playing Hagrid in the new Harry Potter series, “I don’t know how we’ll get hold of him”.
It looks like the time for them to get prepped for a new movie is now, and no matter what these guys do, I will be seated.
“I haven’t heard anything lately,” McKenna Grace talks fifth Ghostbusters movie
“With what do next, we want to be completely different from [the Cornetto Trilogy],” Pegg said last June, “We don’t want to do a take on action movies or a take on sci-fi or a take on horror. We want to make a movie that is totally its own thing, existing outside of the Cornetto trilogy. My desire, really, is to do something super different.”
They’ve never put a foot wrong working together, so I have high hopes for whatever they come up with… I just hope Frost can answer the call too.
Thoughts? I know you have them and I wanna hear ’em all.
Here’s the ambiguous [but exciting] post:
