The Muschiettis confirm there’s a lot more Pennywise to come, including a possible movie supercut

It looks like Stephen King’s most terrifying monster, Pennywise, isn’t going anywhere for quite some time as not only are there another two season of IT: Welcome to Derry planned, but it seems like an extended edition of the movies is coming.

Going down the route of Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair, Andy and Barbera Muschietti (director and producer of the movies and the driving force behind the TV series) have said that this supercut is in the pipeline.

In a new interview, below, Barbera tells Andy that King himself was asking her about the extended edition and, speaking in French, Andy Muschietti says that the two movies as one would be a drea come true for him and that it might have a different narrative structure than the duo of movies and would have new scenes, some of which aren’t filmed yet. And he says the studio is behind it and up for financing it, so it’s probably happening.

Not only that, but Barbera has also teased that a third movie is possible as King’s novel, which he has said in the past he doesn’t remember writing because of drug and alcohol addiction, has intentional ‘gaps’ allowing for story and mythology expansion.

And, adding fuel to the fire, Ghostbusters and IT star Finn Wolfhard has said that there’s more of his character, Richie Tozier, to still be seen. In a recent interview, he said: “Yeah, I’m connected. I think there’s something else that will come up eventually that I’m excited for people to see.”

As of right now, the only thing we know for sure is that Pennywise is set to keep terrorising the people of Derry in IT: Welcome to Derry and the plan, according to Andy Muschietti, is that the show will keep focusing on hostric events from the Kingverse including the Black Spot (1962), Bradley Gang massacre (1935), and Kitchener Ironworks explosion (1908).

Sounds like Pennywise’s story is far from over yet…
