The Strangers Trilogy super-edit shown to fans by Lionsgate

I reported earlier how an extended version of IT Chapters 1 and 2 could be in the works, similar to Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair and now it seems that Renny Harlin’s The Strangers trilogy has been given the same treatment, although no word if it’s getting a cinematic or nome release right now.

With Harlin’s trilogy set to conclude when the third movie arrives on February 6th, reports have come out that a secret screening in LA was of the entire trilogy re-editied into one, big bloody movie.

And the reports are that the combined movie makes the somewhat underwhelming first two movies a lot better, with @billbria on X comparing it to Terrifier 2, saying: “In this cut, it’s the most ambitious slasher film since TERRIFIER 2. Harlin’s a mad lad, & Madelaine Petsch is a helluva Final Girl.”

Primitive War is getting a sequel, coming 2027

Others say that the new cut even has scenes as dark as the 2008 original.

Thoughts? I know you have them and I wanna hear ‘em all.

As I say, no word on if this is getting a wide release but, even how positive the word is on this new cut, I would imagine Lionsgate will be considering at the very least giving it a home release.

In the final film of The Strangers trilogy, Maya (Madelaine Petsch) faces the masked killers one last time in a brutal, full-circle reckoning of survival and revenge.

Directed by: Renny Harlin. Cast: Madelaine Petsch, Gabriel Basso, Ema Horvath

The Strangers Chapter 3 slashes its way onto screens on February 6th.

The Muschiettis confirm there’s a lot more Pennywise to come, including a possible movie supercut
