Sony confirms Spider-man: Noir will screen in both colour and black and white

Sony has confirmed that Nic Cage’s highly anticipated Spider-man Noir series will be hitting our screens in two different versions.

Taking to social media, the studio confirmed: The city needs a hero…hopefully they find someone. “Spider-Noir” – a new live action series starring Nicolas Cage – arrives 2026 in both black & white and color.

Nice gesture but this needs to be watched in black and white.

The series from Phil Lord and Christopher Miller sees Cage reprise the role he played in the two animated Spider-verse movies for Sony, although this time, it’s in live-action, albeit very stylised live-action… think Dickk Tracy by way of Sin City and you’re almost there.

Lord and Miller left Sony for creative reasons since this series started filming, so this is likely their last Spider-Man content, which is a real shame because with Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse and then Across the Spider-verse, they gave us the best Spidey content in many years.

Anyway, check the teaser and let me know your thoughts.

Will you be watching when the six-part series drops in 2026?

Check out the colour poster:

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
