The Lanterns trailer is here! Earlier than anticipated, we have our first real look at the upcoming Lanterns series and it’s here a day earlier than planned.
HBO announced the trailer earlier today (see the teaser below) and then it was promptly leaked online and then it was quickly officially released… and you can see it below too.
It looks like it’s going to be a cracking series but it does seem a little light on, well, Green Lanterns. But I am sure that will all change when the full series drops.
James Gunn’s DCU rolls on…
Originally set to release early next year, the series is now set to debut on HBO next summer – “It’s late summer. But there’s a reason for it,” says DC Studios co-CEO Peter Safran.
This means the highly anticipated series, which stars Kyle Chandler and Aaron Pierre as Green Lanterns Hal Jordan and John Stewart – Nathan Fillion’s Guy Gardner will also appear – and it is being described as being “as much of a buddy cop show as a superhero show,” by showrunner Chris Mundy, will hit screens around the same time Supergirl gets released on the big screen.
The series follows new recruit John Stewart and Lantern legend Hal Jordan, two intergalactic cops drawn into a dark, earth-based mystery as they investigate a murder in the American heartland.

Before the trailer was leaked, HBO put out a teaser for the trailer (coming tomorrow), so have a look at that while you’re here:
