Wyatt Russell to lead new Monsterverse TV series

Any Monsterverse fans in the house today? Well, I have great news… a third Monsterverse TV series has been given the go-ahead, joining Monarch: Legacy of Monsters and the animated Skull Island.

The new series spins off from the aforementioned Monarch: Legacy of Monsters and will see Wyatt Russell return as Colonel Lee Shaw and the series, as yet untitled, will chronicle an event from his younger years, before Monarch.

The series, like Monarch, will be showrun by Joby Harold under his Safehouse Pictures.

The official tagline reads: The new spinoff series will follow the story of Colonel Lee Shaw, an American operative who in 1984 went on a secret mission behind enemy lines in an attempt to stop the Soviets from unleashing a horrific new Titan big enough to destroy the U.S. and turn the tide of the Cold War.

On the project, Harold said: “I could not feel more privileged to be a part of building out this wildly iconic universe… and we will continue to bring these Titans of cinematic history to audiences with the reverence they deserve.”

I love the Monsterverse, so I am all in for this world to continue but I’m also wondering if we’ll see FTN favourite Kurt Russell will return in the new show as the older Lee Shaw again…

Anyway, more Monsterverse is coming. Thoughts? I know you have them and I wanna hear ’em all!

Monarch: Legacy of Monsters returns for season 2 on February 27th, 2026.
