It looks like things are progressing nicely with the Channing Tatum Gambit movie.
Robocop co-writer Josh Zetumer has been hired by Fox to script the X-Men spinoff and Tatum will not just star but also co-produce along with Reid Carolin, The Donners Company’s Lauren Shuler Donner, and Genre Films’ Simon Kinberg.
Interestingly though, the script will be based on a story by Gambit co-creator Chris Claremont. Gambit has previously been on the big screen in X-Men Origins: Wolverine and was played by Taylor Kitsch.
Word is the movie will follow-on from X-Men: Apocalypse and Gambit may well be briefly introduced there before the spin-off happens.
