So, it’s been some time since we heard anything about executive producer David S Goyer’s Superman (sort of) TV Series at Syfy, Krypton.
So long that we actually forgot about it (sorry), but it seems it’s still alive and well. Ish.
“It’s still in development,” says Goyer, “Hopefully. We’ll have some news about it pretty soon.”
However, if you’re expecting a show to document Kal-El’s early years, then you better sit down as Goyer confirms it’ll be “200 years before Krypton’s explosion”, and will be inspired by a pages he had written for Man Of Steel which dealt with what the politics and life on Krypton was like: “I was so insistent on setting that opening on Krypton and really seeing it, was pulling back the curtain [but] there were a lot of ideas that I wanted to use in the film that didn’t ultimately make it into the film.”
However, he seems a little unsure if the show will definitely happen, but knows what it will be if it does: “Should we make the show, there will definitely be some big moments. It won’t be wall-to-wall visual effects every single moment, spectacle, in the way that the film will be, but we’ll also be digging into the characters and the culture a lot more.”
If it’s inspired by his lost stuff from Man of Steel, does that mean it will be in the DC Cinematic Universe? They’ve been careful to avoid TV and cinematic crossovers with Arrow, Flash and Supegirl… will this be a game changer?
We’ll keep you up to date, guys.
