Get ready for the new daily show

Sonic the Hedgehog movie arrives in cinemas next year.

February 21st, 2018 by Irwin Fletcher Comments

Produced by Neil H Moritz with Deadpool director Tim Miller as the executive producer the Blue Hedgehog is sprinting to the silver screen and will open on November 2019.

First time director Jeff Fowler is throwing his hat into the ring and making his directorial debut with a script written by Pat Casey and Josh Miller who created the fox animation Golan The Insatiable. Fowler is known for directing the 2005 Oscar-nominated short movie Gopher Broke.

Paramount is planning on a mix of live-action and CGI to bring Sega’s lynchpin character to life.

Sonic was introduced to the video game public in 1991 in an attempt to rival Nintendo’s cultural Icon Super Mario.  Along with Tails and Knuckles, Sonic spends his time running around collecting rings and thwarting the evil plans of Doctor Eggman Robotnik and to date the series has sold more that 360 million copies across its various incarnations.

As yet no actors are attached to star in the movie and with Dennis Hopper and Bob Hoskins no longer with us maybe John Leguizamo will further tarnish his career by appearing in this?

Remember the Super Mario Brothers movie?…… enough said!
