Stephen Amell confirms he’ll be starring with Green Arrow’s goatee beard next season

Ok, so there’s been a bit of an ongoing adventure regarding Stephen Amell rocking the signature goatee as Green Arrow in the Arrow series.

You may recall he had it in season five when he appeared as the older Green Arrow (here) and even had the missing arm that fans of The Dark Knight Returns loved.

Well, it seems that now he’ll be having it in the next season… that’s the seventh season for those counting.

At Motor City Comic-Con Amell gave the fans some cool news: “Just because you’ve been polite, and just because everyone has been so nice to me today, I can break some news for you and let you know that in Season Seven I am going to debut the goatee.”

“I can’t promise that I’m going to keep [the goatee] forever,” he said, “I can definitely promise that I’m not going to wear the stupid hat.”

In fairness, we recon the hat worn by Green Arrow in the comics, which make him look like Robin Hood, would be tough to pull-off convincingly in the show, so we’re ok with him sticking with ‘The Hood’.

The beard will be a welcome addition to the character’s appearance in the series too as the Arrowverse continues to do the things we, as fans, want to see.

Thoughts?
